Registration Information
Our Patient Access Department will assist you with the registration process. We strive to help your registration go as smoothly as possible. We register both inpatients (those who will be admitted) and outpatients(those scheduled for services or procedures that do not require an overnight stay). WHERE TO GO
For inpatient or outpatient services (except for Radiology and Lab services), please register at the Pavilion Registration area on the first floor, 1850 Town Center Parkway, from 5:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. On weekends, please register at our Emergency Department Registration, which is open 24-hours-a-day, seven days a week. For Reston Hospital Center "Medical Imaging Center" services, please register at the Medical Imaging Center located in the Hospital Center Medical Plaza, 1830 Town Center Drive, Suite 110. The center is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Registration for Radiology and Lab is in the Radiology Department.
WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU ARRIVE
If you have pre-registered, all your required paperwork will be placed in a file for quick retrieval upon your arrival at the appropriate registration area. You will be asked to verify information on the face sheet of your pre-registration packet and to sign the appropriate forms. The registration representative will make copies of your insurance cards and/or IDs as appropriate. Documents that you will be required to sign include:
- Consent for treatment
- Authorization to bill insurance
- If you are a TRICARE recipient, you will be additionally required to sign the:
- CHAMPUS Rights Statement
If you have not pre-registered, our registration representative will proceed with registration as quickly as possible.
WHAT TO BRING
Please remember to bring the following items with you at the time of registration:
- Social Security Number
- All active insurance cards
- Picture ID
- Advance Directive such as a Living Will or Durable Power of Attorney for Healthcare, if you have one. Please click here to print a copy of these forms.
PARKING
Pavilion - For patients and visitors, including those visiting a physician's office or using Radiology, Laboratory or Outpatient Surgery services:
- Free valet service is offered at the front Pavilion Circle
- Self-parking is available in the Parking Garage on campus.
Emergency Department
Emergency Department parking is available across from the Emergency Department entrance.
INSURANCE INFORMATION

OUTPATIENT SURGERY
For outpatient surgery patients, it is important that you schedule a pre-operative (pre-op) appointment with our Same Day Surgery Department prior to the day of your surgery. You may schedule the appointment by calling at 703-689-9005 (select Option #1), 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
We understand the value of your time. Whenever possible, we will conduct pre-op appointments by phone. However, under certain circumstances we may have to meet with you in person. Appointments may last from 30 minutes to one hour.
For your convenience, our admitting department offers a full-service laboratory and EKG testing if you need these services. Please note - depending on your insurance, you may need to go to another lab facility for your testing. If so, please notify that facility to fax your lab results to Reston Hospital Center's Same Day Surgery Department at 703-689-9206 at least 48 hours prior to your surgery.
