Guest Relations

Patient safety is our #1 goal at Reston Hospital Center. Patients, patient representatives and families are encouraged to communicate any concerns related to care, treatment, services and patient safety issues.

During your hospitalization, you may receive a visit from one of our patient advocates. As part of the Guest Relations Department, patient advocates are here to help resolve complaints and address concerns. If you have a complaint or concern, please inform your nurse, or the unit charge nurse, that you would like to speak to a patient advocate. Every effort will be made to resolve your complaint or concern in a timely manner.

If you would like to speak with a patient advocate, you may also call the Guest Relations Department at 703-639-9470 (Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00 pm.) If you need immediate assistance, please contact the hospital operator by dialing “0” from a hospital phone or 703-689-9000 to contact the appropriate representative. You are also welcome to submit your concerns or compliments in writing to:

We value your opinions regarding your care and treatment and we appreciate the time and effort to let us know about your experience. We encourage you to fill out your patient satisfaction survey, which helps us understand what works well and identifies areas for improvement. Your feedback is important to us and we will share it with those involved in your care.

Process for Addressing Ethical Issues

The physician caring for you is always the initial source of contact regarding ethical issues. If conflicts are not resolved, the hospital has an Ethics Committee that can meet to discuss the matter. This service may be arranged through the physician or nurse caring for you.
