Cafeteria and Food Services
InformationWhile you are a patient at Reston Hospital Center it is the Food and Nutrition Department's goal to meet your individual dietary needs. We are dedicated to serving you meals of the highest quality. We do understand that each individual has specific tastes or may have special needs according to the diet order prescribed by your physician. To accommodate your needs we offer the "World Class Dining Program". We offer a variety of foods, different diets and food consistencies to meet your special needs. If you have questions regarding your diet or nutrition, please ask your nurse to contact the dietitian for you.
Meals - Your physicians will order a diet based on your diagnosis. A host or hostess will deliver a menu to your room based on your prescribed diet.
Certain medical tests mandate that you may not eat for a period of time. When this happens we will be certain to deliver your meal after the test has been completed.
Special Diet Circumstances - Clear liquid and full liquid meals will be automatically sent to you. Diabetics will be provided with a diabetic snack in the evening.
Snacks - If you would like a between-meal snack, please discuss this with your nurse or Dietitian. Juices, milk, crackers, ice cream and other food items are available in the kitchens on each floor.
Guest Meals - Guest meal trays are offered to the parents of our pediatric patients only. If parents will be staying during meal times they are welcome to order their meals in the same way as other patients. All other guests are invited to visit our hospital cafeteria. New dads on the Maternal and Child Health unit are provided with one free meal pass to the cafeteria to be used at any meal after their child is born.
Cafeteria - The hospital cafeteria is located on the first floor off of the main lobby and serves full-service meals for family and friends for the following meals and times: breakfast 7 a.m. - 10 a.m., lunch 11:00 a.m. - 2 p.m. and dinner 3:30 p.m. - 7 p.m.
