RESTON, VA —Reston Hospital Center has been awarded the designation of a Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology (COEMIG). Appointed by the Surgical Review Corporation, Reston Hospital Center joins the small group of nearly 60 out of the 5,185 registered hospitals nationwide that hold this award.
This prestigious recognition is a direct result of the work of both the hospital facility and their individual surgeons. The Surgical Review Corporation only considers health facilities and their associated surgeons who demonstrate high-quality perioperative patient care and have completed the designating process. After exhibiting competency in numerous fields, and completing an evaluation, Reston Hospital Center received a COEMIG program certification. Surgeons Dr. Cathleen Doane-Wilson, Dr. Evelyn Felluca, and Dr. Camilla Hersch, from Reston Hospital Center were influential in obtaining the appointment.
Reston Hospital Center has committed to adopting the purpose of the COEMIG program by continuing to improve the safety and quality of gynecologic patient care while simultaneously lowering the cost associated with successful treatments.
Medical Director of Reston Hospital Center’s Minimally Invasive Gynecology program, Dr. Evelyn Felluca stated, “We are honored to be named a Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology. This program echoes the dedication that we have to providing the highest quality minimally invasive gynecology services to our patients. We are proud of our program and will continue to uphold the standard of excellence here at Reston Hospital Center.”
